The Deal

Our group of galleries, as seen at ARTCAF.NET run a FREE service, set up so that all artists, pro artists, hobby artists, ghetto artists, therapy artists & the disabled, art students and their parents or art teachers can submit, display and market the work. We promote, publish, and sell prints of the work and the artists, your school/uni or charity make royalties. We also simultaniously act as an agency, attracting commission contracts. (Artists generally prefer to keep their valuable originals but make saleable copies)

How
To get your works of art printed and on display for sale - all you need to do is first copyright your file (by posting it to yourself to prove the date) then send the high rez .jpg or .Tif file, or megapixel .jpg photo file or scanned .JPG file of each picture (upto 10 pictures per artist/or more over time) using our entry forum (once your registration is complete click 'forum' or 'artist login' at the gallery main menu.
Each Picture you upload
at the entry forum must be of high enough resolution to print - Size A2(42 x 59.4 cm) and upto A1, A0(4ft) at 300 DPI ... so at least a 3 megapixel (ideally a 6 or 12 megapixel) camera should be used to photograph your painting, or if it is digital art created on a computer, it should be atleast 14,400 pixels wide when you start the picture. If it is basic lineart and can be easily autotraced then a smaller file may be accepted subject to curve smoothness).

S
light .jpg compression may be required resulting in a 4 megabyte file. WARNING: When sending, Files bigger than 4.5 megabytes may be rejected by our server.

UNLIKE MOST OTHER ONLINE GALLERIES, EACH PICTURE SUBMITTED IS INDIVIDUALLY JUDGED AND PROCESSED TO ENSURE QUALITY AND WATERMARKED/REDUCED IN SIZE BY HAND IN ORDER TO PROTECT THE PICTURE FILE FROM MISS-USE AND PIRATE PRINTING - DURING THIS TIME CONSIDERATION IS GIVEN TO HOW THE PICTURE MIGHT BE NICHE MARKETED IN THE FUTURE FOR EFFICIENT AND APPROPRIATE EXPOSURE.

Your picture's will then be duplicated, and displayed in your own gallery page at our public galleries as seen at ArtCaf.net, A selection of the most popular pictures may later be mass produced(printed on paper and material/clothes) and distributed to shops, art cafe's, and other galleries selling varied printed products (niche galleries such as Getoart.com and ciriefader.com). We hope to distribute the best works as mass produced prints, using our print dispenser, in the UK and USA representing £30,000 in royalties. Artists, students, and traders are also able now to have production copies made available at a discounted price to sell at degree shows and other events or outlets where you might want to sell the work!. (see the main menu at the gallery to see more information about how we can help you promote your work once it has been submitted - sorry-uk only)

As a promotional aid visitors are invited to copy a lower resolution picture to their desktop, we also periodically distribute free postcards and merchandise* to students and other places to promote the gallery and your work.

Once work has been submitted, as an artist. agent, parent or teacher at our galleries you will be able to LOG-IN to the Art Help Forum. News, updates, media and job opportunities are posted here, and it is a place where artists can chat to each other about art and college issues, former students and pro artists will also be invited in the hope of encouraging new or younger artists.
(Trade price prints, Postcards, Tshirts, and mousemats are also available here at trade price once you have accepted our invitation)

Our galleries are updated on a monthly/Quarterly basis. We will let you know at the forum when the gallery has been updated with your picture/s
(welcome packs with free postcards coming soon) and you can access the forum at the main menu by clicking on 'Forum' or 'Artist log in'.

Royalties
You or your school (whoever submits the work) will receive royalties for every print sold You make 20-33% on individual print sales eg. £7-10 royalties per individual £29.50 A2 print sale, and £60 royalties per £295 A0 print sale
£2.00 per poster print - if mass produced), £2 for every £16 postcard pack sold over the web, and £5 for every T shirt sold (£1 per shirt mass production). £1 for gift items, greetings card packs, calendars and Jigsaws (Doubling to £2+ after 2nd order depending on pre-press/set-up work involved). Royalties will not be paid for any free promotional cards/prints or clothing items which we give away. Royalty percentages are subject to change where we have to outsource printing for larger prints and mass print runs for sale into shops.
Sometimes a customer will want an original. eg a signed oil on canvas copy, or rights to use your work. We will contact you by phone or email (sorry UK artists only at present) if this happens, and take a small commission for getting you the work/contract. (Thus helping to fund the running and promotion of our galleries and your pictures)..you can also submit a link to your own website so customers can contact you direct..with no commission taken by us
Some artists, in this case, prefer to produce an original copy of the original (using the same technique/material etc). We do not encourage the sale of originals in a hurry and reccommend that print sales increase the originals value over time

Our aim is to distribute a selection of the best works as prints internationally
representing £30,000+ in royalty payments to those selected artists.

Royalties for print sales are paid by Cheque to whoever submits the work, yearly in January once it reaches £30 or more. (more often for popular prints or larger amounts).

Legalities
By submitting your artwork you agree to this statement -that the work is entirely of your own, or your clients, origination and that you, the originator give us permanent rights to copy and sell prints of it.
This agreement is non-exclusive and we hope that other publishers, galleries and organisations will purchase prints from us at trade price (or affiliation) -simply purchase from the gallery and join our affiliate commission scheme.

Considerable time and effort is put into displaying and marketing your work, for this reason we cannot remove work from the gallery (and printed catalogues) once it is displayed and prepared for print. 1-2 years after an artist has left university, work will be moved to the former students archive which acts as an art history guide.

Our galleries are updated on a monthly/quarterly basis. We will let you know at the forum when the gallery has been updated with your picture/s
(welcome packs/postcards coming soon) ...We reserve the right to withhold work from the gallery subject to manpower availability.
